Every surface in the Vaquum design system, grouped by section in canonical reading order.
What this is
The sitemap lists every surface in the system. Pages are grouped by section, and within each section they sort along the canonical reading chain that prev and next define on every page. Following the chain, a reader visits every page once; the sitemap below shows the same order at a glance.
How it stays current
The sitemap exhibit reads the content collection directly at build time. Adding a content page, renaming an existing one, or removing one updates the surface on the next build, with no editorial step. The within-section order is the reading chain that prev and next define on every page. Pages that decline to declare a chain link sort to the end of their section.
- Vaquum Design System A surface is received through two channels and composed from five content forms. This site is the canonical instance of that system. /
- Ontology An ontology names what can exist on a surface and the forms it can take. Two channels govern every element; five modalities carry its content. /ontology/
- Sitemap Every surface in the Vaquum design system, grouped by section in canonical reading order. /sitemap/
The visual channel — what the eye receives in the first half-second.
- Face Face is the visual channel of the design system. Nine parameters govern how every surface looks before any word is read. /face/
- Typeface The typographic system — two humanist faces at a fixed scale of seven sizes, with fixed weights, features, and measures. /typeface/
- Tone Tone is the distribution of brightness across a surface. Three values, each with a declared band of luminance and ink share. /tone/
- Colour Colour is the closed palette of 14 values. Every mark on every surface draws from this set; any other hex is a build failure. /colour/
- Form Form is the shape language of marks on a Vaquum surface. Three values close it; two are usable, one names a failure state. /form/
- Position Position is how marks sit on the horizontal axis of a surface. Four values; one names a failure state on body prose. /position/
- Proportion Proportion is the size relationship between elements on a Vaquum surface. One base unit, three vertical gaps, and a six-size scale, declared per surface as one of three values. /proportion/
- Density Density is how much mark sits on a Vaquum surface per unit of space. Three values name three brackets along a single axis; above the highest bracket the surface earns a composition failure. /density/
- Rhythm Rhythm is how predictably elements repeat across a Vaquum surface. Three values; the third names the failure state. /rhythm/
- Motion Motion is when and how a surface changes in response to input. One easing curve, two durations, three values. /motion/
The verbal channel — the register the reading mind runs.
- Voice Voice is the verbal channel of the design system. Eight parameters govern how every surface reads, from the first sentence to the closing line. /voice/
- Register Register is the vocabulary band and grammatical convention of every Vaquum surface, fixed system-wide at one value. Professional carries everyday English with domain terms, no contractions, and no marketing vocabulary. /register/
- Temperature Temperature is the affective load every Vaquum surface carries, fixed system-wide at one value. Neutral places the firm between warm — evaluative, reassuring — and cool — forensic, distancing. /temperature/
- Precision Precision is the discipline applied to every word the firm chooses for its referent, fixed system-wide at one value. Exacting precision pairs every numerical claim with its unit and rejects vague quantifiers. /precision/
- Compression Compression is the density of information in every Vaquum surface, fixed system-wide at one value. Moderate compression carries one claim per clause and two to four claims per paragraph, with no padding and no throat-clearing. /compression/
- Cadence Cadence is the rhythm of the sentences on every Vaquum surface, fixed system-wide at one value. Measured cadence carries a median sentence length of 14 to 18 words, varied distribution, and main-plus-one subordination. /cadence/
- Directness Directness is the rule that finding precedes context on every Vaquum surface, fixed system-wide at one value. Claim-first directness places the main clause before any qualifier, the topic sentence at the head of every paragraph, and the core finding in the first paragraph of every document. /directness/
- Certainty Certainty is the rule that the epistemic frame on every Vaquum surface is firm, fixed system-wide at one value. Assertive certainty states firm claims directly and asserts uncertainty directly when evidence is limited; the frame itself is never hedged. /certainty/
